We are having a bad year of flooding and it doesn’t look like it is over yet with the ground being saturated and frozen. We haven’t seen any real damage but the water has gotten into some crawl spaces. The water is up under the trailers in the Camp Ground but it is closed this time of the year.

We have made applications for LARE grants for 2008.

The first one is for the treating of Eurasian Milfoil that we did not get to treat for last year. The application was for 10% participation in a $20,000. project. We still will need to get bids if the grant is approved. This grant will be decided in March.

The second application is for the first stage [ Engineering Study ] of a LARE grant to work on trying to control the flooding. From the studies that have been done they are looking at possibly digging some sediment basins up stream in the watershed. This grant is estimated to cost about $20,000. and our portion would be about 10%. This grant will be decided in July 2008.
